5G rollout: Telecom war begins between Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea

The war has started between the telecom companies of the country regarding 5G Rollout . Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea want to make their lead in the 5G segment as soon as possible. The government is being requested for help so that 5G technology becomes accessible to the people. These telecom companies have invested millions of dollars in the country but there is no clear outline of future additional earnings from this new technology. No country in the world has expanded 5G service so fast.

5G service growing rapidly despite heavy debt

The total debt of the telecom industry is likely to be around Rs 6.3 lakh crore in FY 2022-23, according to rating agency ICRA. Director General of Cellular Operators Association of India S.P. Kochhar (SP Kochhar) says that “the country’s telecom sector is heavily burdened with debt. Still, India is the fastest 5G network rollout country in the world.

Reliance Jio and Airtel made big investments

Reliance Jio has started 5G service in more than 400 and Airtel in more than 500 cities in the country. Jio has bought spectrum worth Rs 88,078 crore for 5G service. At the same time, Airtel has spent about Rs 43,084 crore on the spectrum. In this episode, Vodafone-Idea has also bought a 5G spectrum worth Rs 18,799 crore. However, has not yet shared the details of its 5G plan.
